Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's vision of India is the guiding force behind all activities of the Centre. In tune with that the Centre has been promoting art and artists by holding annual exhibitions of works of art. For the last 19 years Nehru Centre has been organizing exhibition of the artwork of the master artists under "Indian Masters' Retrospective".

In 2007 Nehru Centre launched another project 'Art Fusion Show' in which artists from city and rural areas of Maharashtra were invited to exhibit their artwork.

In 2008 in addition to artists from Maharashtra, the Art Fusion Show included artists from West Bengal.

In 2009 in addition to artists from Maharashtra, artists from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were invited to exhibit their artwork.

The 4th Art Fusion Show in 2010 was also to celebrate Maharashtra's Golden Jubilee Year. Artists from the state of Gujarat and Karnataka - from areas which were formerly part of erstwhile State of Bombay were also invited to exhibit their works along with artists from Maharashtra.

This year in addition to the artists of Maharashtra, artists from Andhra Pradesh have been invited to exhibit their artwork.
